Anyone ever bow hunt out an Ameristep Gunner blind?
I want a couple of pop up blinds but can't justify $200+ Per blind.

I wouldn't bow hunt out of any of the real small pop ups. If you don't want to spend the money on a good blind, it might be better for you to start stacking branches and stuff to make your own natural blind. As long as you have plenty of backdrop to blend into, a little cover in front of you, and you're well shaded, you can have a good setup on the ground for no cost.

Wish I could help but I'm no expert on pop up blinds. I just know the one I use and the ones I've seen don't have much headroom for the limbs of a compound bow.CBU93":19nwv2od said:

The Amerstep Doghouse blinds usually go in the $50 range on ebay. I've got one set up and brushed in right now to bowhunt from. It obviously isn't as good as a Double Bull, but I think it should work if I can handle the shooting from a sitting position.

If I could add a question here - I have an original double bull setup and ready to go. It has shoot through mesh. Is that legitimate? Can you really shoot through the mesh with no ill effects?
Two reasons to use one.... Small kids and inclement weather.

I starting using a ground blind a couple years ago. Hunt with my young son. We have had deer within 5 yards that nevrr knew we were there. Kill his first buck at about 20 yards from a ground blind.

Look at the hub blinds from Ameristep and Primos. Can get one plenty big enough to bow hunt out of and even for another person to be in there with you for under $200
