Anyone do much fishing there? I haven't fished any farther south than Enid but I hear Grenada has some big crappie. I've also heard you need to do some wading in the brush or grass to get to them.

a friend of mine at work fishes there regularly and routinely catches big fish (3-pounders are not that uncommon).
As far as I know, he fishes several poles at once, drifting jigs or minnows in the traditional fashion.
Obviously your tactics for the spawn will shift around based on whether the shallow water is up into structure or not. I don't know the details of what the shoreline looks like, but I'm pretty positive that he never goes wading. If I see him around, I'll ask (but he might be on night shift).

There was a crappie tourney there last weekend. 2 boats weighted in 7 crappie weighting over 20 lbs. big fish was 3.85 lbs. if I remember correctly, 17 crappie on day 2 were over 3 lbs
