Great morning

to hear gobbling, had there been any. lol First couple of hours, totally still, clear and warm. But if there were any male birds on our place, they were silent. Ditto, no hen yelps, although I did see three different solo hens. Normally, they will talk to me when I yelp. At any rate, I've quit trying to figure when they will be vocal.......or not.

I don't know. As late as Monday, I had a red hot one coming, but he was the first that I heard, and not until two hours after daylight. Last year I killed an old timer in mid-afternoon after he answered my call(surprised me), and, as I remember, it was the last week of the season. And we sure won't hear any gobblin' if were not out there, will we? lol But,at least in my area,I think the peak has probably past.

Same thing every year, should pick back up anytime. I'm still hearing a few each morning from the house before work. Should get better.
