I am little late in posting my hunt from Monday but here it goes. I had initially planned on getting in the woods around noon and hunt the rest of the day, but luckily I was able to leave for the woods earlier than planned and I arrived at our lease around 8:30am. My stand was not to far from where parked and I would be able to walk in quietly and hopefully undetected. My hunting spot was a food plot centered between two large thickets and we have been getting several pics of some good bucks in there during the daylight.
Around 10 o'clock I saw a couple of does moving from the thicket into the plot then back into the thicket. Fast forward to around 11 o'clock and the two does bolted out of the thicket, I immediately knew there was a buck chasing. Sure enough the first buck that came out was a ten point followed by a small six point, then a mature wide 8 point. Needless to say that the bucks began running the does from one side of the thicket to the other. This happened three different times. I did everything I knew to try and get the ten point to stop. Unfortunately, he had something else on his mind. Then, after what seemed like forever, the 10 point and small 6 "walked" back into the plot. I immediately thought "thank you Lord!! However the 10 point was quartering away from me and was around 80-100 yds. I told myself that I wasn't going to take a shot till I had a better angle. Luckily, he began walking to the left which gave me a broadside shot and I was able to make a great shot on him. He ran about 50 yds ( of course into the thicket) but I was perfectly fine with that. The Lord truly blessed me with a good deer.

That is awesome. Congrats. Sounds like things are really starting to crank up in the woods. My absolute favorite time of year. I saw some does running around the field behind my house last night right at dark and I assume they were being chased. I can't wait until this weekend !!! Great story.
