Great afternoon with my son!

Took my son to a small oxbow that I love to fish and we had a field day with the fish. Deepest part of this lake is 5-6 ft but most of it is about 3 ft on average. I love slow rolling a big blade next to them cypress knees and stump flats. Water was 68 degrees, which was up 10 degrees from last weekend. My son caught his first bass ever on an artificial bait, and it was a chunk! He was slow rolling the same spinnerbait I was. I went back through the same areas I fished with a blade and caught em by pitching a big lizard and a beaver type bait to some flooded vegetation. Best 5 was around 21-22 lbs. I was very proud of him with his first 2 fish on artificial baits!

Oxbow of what river?

I believe the Hatchie backwater gets into this oxbow, according to the national weather service river gauge on their website. It's near Ft. Pillow and not far from the MS River.
