Got there at 10pm Sunday night for their opener Monday morning. Slept in the truck and left an hour and a half before daylight for a 1 mile haul.
I heard 7-8 different birds, and ended up setting up on a Jake that thought he was a big boy. I called in him and 2 buddies at daylight and passed.
I followed this bird around until about 8:30 when he finally decided to answer a call. I killed him one minute later.
They have 5 one week seasons, one bird per week- no more than 3/ year and it is a draw hunt. I drew with one priority point.
