Grass killer herbicide for clover

Please refresh my memory on herbicides that can be used to kill grasses in a clover field. I know Imperial makes Arrest, but what is it's generic equivalent?

On the same note, does 24DB kill grasses or broadleafs and please confirm it is safe to use in a clover field.

24DB is for broadleaf and is safe on a clover field, even though the label doesnt list it anymore.

Clethodim or sethoxydim are the active ingredients your looking for for your grass control. You'll find alot better prices than what Imperial offers.

I assume Clethodim and sethoxydim are the ingredietns that make up High Yeild?

I think Arrest is around $80 for 2 gallons, might be more just can't remember. Any idea how much High Yeild costs? It also seems like you have to use almost twice as much Arrest per acre as you would glysophate so the costs start adding up pretty quick on 7 acres of clover.

poast and poast plus will kill grasses, I would suggest doing a search online, you can get lots of info.

The active herbicide in Poast is sethoxydim, and it is pretty expensive. A couple of years ago I used about $30 worth on one 3/4 acre clover field, if I remember right. It worked o.k., but it didn't do what I would call an excellent job.

I have heard that some have used glyphosate (Roundup) at a reduced rate on clover to get rid of undesirable grass. It will make the clover "sick" for a bit but not kill it. I don't remember the specific concentration you would use to get the desired effect, but overdosing it would not be a good thing!

Grass herbicide is just high in cost!! Here is my experience, arrest is higher,.. but it has a higher concentration to it over the others, meaning i can use less,.. the others are cheaper but a lower concentration, and have to use more to cover the same ground. In the long run, spread out over a single growing season, i can save by using arrest.

thanks to all. Sounds like there isn't really a inexpensive way to go unless I get the gonads to spray glysophate which I probably want...

The active ingredient is Sethoxydim. Found in several other products. dont buy it in "arrest"....marked up to the point of rediculous.

been a while since i used it but i think it was 3 to 4 per gallon......it is quiet expensive to use in my opinion and has limited re use because the grass apparently can become resistent to it should you use it too often as i remember. the lable tells the strength to use but i havent bought any in a few years now.
