Any recomendations on a good GPS to use for public land hunting?

I have a garmin gps unit that I have used for years and it has always done good for me, but this year I downloaded Cabelas Recon app for the smartphones ($4.99) and by far I like it much better than my garmin because it can do as much as my gps and alot easier.
