I had the opportunity to hunt with the Versa Max over Christmas break and thought I'd share my experience. I had shot several hundred shells through it before hunting with it on field tests and such, but you really don't get to see what a gun has until you hunt with it. I treated this gun like crap and hunted a couple of days in the rain just trying to see what it would stand up to.

I've shot everything from 7/8 oz managed recoil loads to 3.5" Black Clouds with no malfunctions whatsoever. I've always known it was a soft shooter from the afternoons when we ran a couple hundred 3.5 inchers with no sore shoulder afterwards, but the first time I shot 3 times at a group of ducks, I realized just how little the recoil affected the second shot.

Here's me and dad after a duck hunt on KY lake.

I got to shoot a mixed bag with it in east TN.

One last hunt before I had to go back to KY. The fog rolled in early that afternoon.

If you get a chance to shoot one of these, I'd urge you to try it out. I think you'll like it.
