We got a little more in N. KY (my public land tracks were real dry)

And I saw this AM where Bowling Green got something like 1.7.

I'm only about 20-30 miles from them SW in driection. Hope my property got some...deer and fruit trees both needed it.
 
2-3" of rain in stripe from Bowling Green down to Scottsville. Plus LOTS of tree damage and power outages. My parents (south of Alvaton) lost some of their biggest and oldest trees as well as their power.

we had rain all around us but missed out by 1 mile on a downpour. Funny how summer rains come and go. Hoping for more.....
 
The ten day forecast for my area has a chance of rain for every day, hopefully it will give us a good soaking and it isn't too late to save my corn!
 
I think the weather patterns that caused the drought have broken. Long-range models look pretty good, with lots of opportunities for afternoon thunderstorms.
 
I reckon we have a big dome over us cause I can't remember the last time we saw rain. I was planning on leaving part of my corn standing but with it currently being 3 ft tall and well dead I guess I'll move on to plan B.

We did, but that is breaking down. The problem was a big ridge of high pressure (northward bend in the jet stream) that kept frontal systems from moving into the Southeast. In addition, the sinking air that occurs under high pressure reduced the potential for afternoon thunderstorms. Lastly, the particular position of the big high pressure system was preventing Gulf moisture from moving into the TN area (dewpoint temperatures during the very hot weather were only running in the mid 50s instead of the normal low 70s for this time of year).

But again, all of these patterns appear to be changing. The long range models suggest more troughs of low pressure for our area and the dewpoint temps are now in the low to mid 70s. That bodes well for regular afternoon thunderstorms.
 
I'm hoping we will finally get some rain today / tonight (15 miles SW of Centerville). The last rain I had was on June 10th. There has been good rain as close as 3 miles away over the past couple of days, but none at my place. It is seriously dry - tree leaves are turning brown and dropping and of course the fields are just parched.
 
Can't wait to get over to the farm north of Parsons (Decatur Co) this weekend. Saw a lot of green, yellow and red over it several times yesterday on the weather page. I've got my fingers crossed because I'd planned on planting some stuff this weekend!

2" here in southern Cheatham Co though and the house needs it too.
 
I've gotten about an 1 inch over the last 3 days, and ill keep hoping for more!!

I was so excited today that I clipped my clover patch while it was raining!!

I hope so too - I know the wife is plannin on heading out there this weekend I think to check the place out. You'll have to check out the new house we got too one of these days, finally homeowners!
