I got in the grouse woods this morning for the first time this fall. I have running my dog, but I hadn't been to the woods til today. Didn't move any or hear any flushes, there's some color starting to show up and saw a clearcut that has come of age that I want to hunt. Probably will not go this coming weekend..it's opening weekend..it's gonna be warm so I will wait til the nest big cold front or rain comes thru..by the way I carried no gun today, just scouting and running my dog.
