The Spyder Turbo got its first bird today! Hit this bird with a 1 3/8" Grim Reaper Razorcut SS today. Love bow hunting turkey.

Congrats man. I don't turkey hunt but I hear that getting a bird with a bow ain't easy. I'm surprised more folks ain't said anything here. This forum has been pretty dead lately.

Thanks guys.

I hunt out of a hub style blind with a hen/jake decoy set up. I set up my decoys 10 yards from my blind. After calling back and forth with a gobbler for two hours a group of jakes came in to inspect me decoys. By the time I was able to get my bow off the bow holder and get to full draw they were 25 yards out. My top pin is 25 yards...Perfect! I shot the one facing away from me and the arrow sliced all the way through him. I was shooting 1 3/8" Grim Reaper Razorcut SS.

I usually pass on jakes but my 7 year old was with me and has never been part of a successful turkey harvest so I took one out.

Love it!

If you hunt from a blind like I do with a bow it's different than running and gunning turkey. In a blind you have to scout and find the best place to set up to bring in a bird with your decoys or calls. With a blind once you're set up that's it, you stay in that spot. With a gun you can move around a bit and adapt if the birds are moving but in a blind with decoys it's a real pain taking everything down, moving and them setting back up again. Honestly hunting turkey from a blind is more like deer hunting.

As far as shooting a turkey with a bow sure it's a little more challenging than a deer but if anyone shoots frequently and knows their equipment it's no biggie

Good job man!!! This is the ultimate trophy with a bow. Taken a couple myself with a bow. My most memorable hunt was the one I shot, ,NOT IN A BLIND. talk about a rush. Proud of you man.
