Food Plots Got My Soil Test Results Back

I'm putting out three small plots this year. This soil report is from a plot that used to be a garden. Weird place for it bein that it's in the middle of the woods. I've lived here just a year.

Not sure what would grow well in a soil so sweet. I was pretty surprised when this came back. Most dirt around here is in the 5's and needs a pretty heavy dose of lime.

Interesting.....we soil tested two new plot sites earlier this year and one of them came back with very low lime requirements.....and it was in a former timber area.... interesting how different areas can vary.

And I walked up on a "garden spot" in the woods one time many years ago.....but whoever planted it wasn't growing tomatoes, squash or okra.

Add whatever lime/fertilizer you need to. Two things that will grow just about anywhere are cereal rye and crimson clover. Check the links out below from QDMA

I've only lived there a year and have always wondered, "Why would they plant a garden in the middle of a woods, nowhere hear the house?" I think you may have solved the riddle. :lol:

Super. I'll take a look at this. Unfortunately, I added lime to the soil prior to getting the test back. I was certain the soil would have been in the 5 range, like most soil around here.
