Stocked harpeth river today and I got my limit in about an hour and a half. Buddy caught 3 or 4 and released em. Mine come home with me. Corn on a trout magnet jig head with a couple split shot bounced along near the bottom.

yeah you would think so, but them stockers are dumb enough they are ready to be fed at any time apparently.

Yep, they even do it in West TN
I have heard about them stocking ponds / lakes for a long time but this year is the first time I have ever tried to catch them.

Extended my fishing season by a couple months, caught a fish I have never caught before and had some great eating.

Very cool in my opinion.

yes those fish are dumb enough they are ready to eat your bait right after they are dumped in the water Sometimes they are all the same size and sometimes there is a little variation, like these weren't all identical, one was definitely bigger than the rest.

check the stomach contents of some of those hatchery fish. i have found cigarette butts, sticks, leaves, rocks... they will eat anything.
