Got me some slabs and some bass... (pics)

I finally got out and wet a line again. Went to the pond in the city park I have mentioned on here before, where someone sunk a bush. Unfortunately, the lake contains reclaimed water and only catch-and-release is allowed, so no fish for the table, but it was a lot of fun anyway.

I guess it's the first crappie I have caught. Stocked, definitely. Loads of them and they all were the same size. Caught 8 crappie and 3 bass if I am not mistaken. 2 dink bass and one decent pound sized largemouth. All on a cheap spinner/white grub jig thing that I had lying around.

There was a guy and his 2 kids fishing there, and they found the sweet spot, caught probably 20+ fish each, almost every cast, while I fished around them and caught myself a few. I only caught one by the bush, most were out in this one spot for some reason.

Anyway here are some pics. Fun to get out and catch a few and in awesome weather at the same time. now time to head to the river and see if the catfish are biting yet.

them jigs work good. I always use a pink head with white tail. used to catch the crap out of some crappie at the hospital pond.

Catfish always bite... if you're fishing with the right bait.

Yes I have heard, but never had enough determination during the winter to go throw the cast net and fish for a long time with the most productive bait that I only catch with a net just a short distance from where I cast a line. So I usually wait till it warms up.
