Glock 23 in the 40 caliber.
Feels great and I can't wait to shoot it.
Pistol, case, two 13 round clips and a box of shells.
I am good to go.
If I can get time to shoot it enough that I feel I won't make a fool of myself before the third Saturday in February I will be taking the conceal carry class then as well.
Used to shoot a pistol every once in a while but it has been a LONG time since I owned or shot one.

Buy as many hi-cap magazines as you can. They are nothing but an investment option right now.

i hate glocks

they are good guns just a personal prefrence

pmc has like 4 or 5

I do not like not having a decocker option. I like seeing a HAMMER !!!

+1 for me, too. It's not the hammer or the decocker, so much. I like the availability of a double-action. My Beretta is DA/SA, so I can keep the safety "off" when carrying & rely on my first shot being DA. I even practice double taps with DA on the first squeeze. But my biggest beef with a Glock (or XD) is the grip angle. Because of the way my hands draw a pistol to firing position, Glocks & XD's always aim high with my draw style.

But I sure can't bust on anyone for THEIR preference! :D

Congrats, Ruger. You'll have a blast with it. And it's amazing how much your mindset changes when you start carrying. Also, the 'paranoia' that EVERYONE can see your gun and knows you're carrying will go away with time. It doesn't last long.

not much gray area on Glocks...people always feel strongly about them, some love them and some hate them. I used to hate them, but now i have 2 and love them. Whatever you do, stay away from "Glocktalk" or we'll never see you again. :D
