Got cva hunter in today. Seen where bestill was gonna be hunting for the next several days. May wait till after thanksgiving to send. In the mean time, what do I need to start gathering up. Judging from what I've found my options for bullets are the sst or Barnes and possibly the xtp. Planning on trying both the Barnes and sst. I'm guesstge sabots that come with the bullets are a no go. Seems like most people are going with the harvester smooth sabot. Also, what ramrod are you guys running. Seen Luke sells a collapsible. I'm guys that's what you use or something similar. Looks like a lot of people use h4198. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 56-60gr. Wouldn't mind getting a head start on some of this.

The light blue harvester is what everyone is using. And the collapsible rod Luke sells is a good one.its all in what your gun likes as far as bullets Barnes is a tuff bullet but the sst. Will definitely get the job done.

As said above, the light blue harvester sabot and either Barnes Expander or SST if you're gonna shoot sabots. From what I've read, it will push the XTPs too fast for the 200 grain. However, I used them to get mine on paper and then tuned it in with the Barnes Expanders. Also, I would get the collapsible ram rod. It isn't cheap but what I use.

You also need to shoot a hot primer. I shoot the Federal 209A.

I have an Encore conversion and shooting 59 gr of H4198 and my son has an NEF shooting 56 gr of H4198. I am far, far from an expert but think that we live close. I live in Baxter and work in Livingston. I think that I have some 200 gr XTPs that I will never shoot that you could have to get you on paper before going to the more expensive bullets.

I may consider shooting sabotless next year or the next. I have not had any issues with the Barnes performance but bought some 2 years ago that there were issues with the bullets. I got some of an older batch that shoot good, and they are supposed to be fixed now. It just scares me going forward.

I live on the north side of cookeville and from Livingston lol. So far from an economical standpoint the sst is the way to go. I'll be searching now that season is close to over for bullets to go on sale. I appreciate the offer on the xtp. I'll have to get with you when I get ready to try this dude out.
