I found this stock on ebay and basically stole it. I was thinking about leaving it slick, but it really didn't have any personality. I also want to give this to my son who is 3, and have a different and somewhat unique checker pattern for him. It is checkered at 20 lines per inch. I also wanted a kiss on the pistol grip. I think it came out well. Here are the before pics:

It is inletted for a WSM Model 70 action. It will be a stainless barreled action chambered in 7mm WSM. It will go off to my gunsmith soon for bedding, trigger job, and final fitting. I can't wait to get it completed.
 
Absolutely, 100% beautiful. Man, I'm a sucker for any gun with a good piece of wood. I once bought a shotgun because of the stock - had no interest in the gun whatsoever other than that. Did you do this yourself or send it to someone?
