Not once but twice. Shooters that is. Seeing plenty of deer almost every sit but also seeing bunch of little bucks. One good one got by me by the time I saw him he had one foot in the thicket and was 200 yards or more away at last light. Was down wind and not the direction I was watching anyways. I tried to spin and get him but wasn't quick enough. Not a chance. Nice heavy 8 pt it looked like too. Second was a different property. Was walking down the access road behind a gate with my stand on my back I saw a bigger one. Jumped out of the woods into the access road. Dropped gun off the shoulder swung stand around in front of me and got behind it real smooth just like I practiced in the past. Looked at him with binos verified he was good but needed a better look so scoped him at 16x, yup he's good and legal. How far? Looks long. Better rangehim. 308 yards pull gun back up rest it on the stand but by the time I verified he was good, ranged him, got him in the scope he was half way in the corn. Game over. This season I have the worst good luck I've ever had.
