Went out to Boone Dam for about an hour this evening.. Haven't fished off that point on the bank in over 30 years..
Got 3 and a few blow ups.

A Redfin is one of my favorite baits for Rockfish but not the broken tail ones, just never used one. I also replace the hooks on them. A big fish in current will straighten out the galvanized hooks.

I've got 2of the old foil finish 7"left..
I always like the originals with no rattles but that's like a long time ago

Back in the day, I broke a lot of lips off the deep diving Red-Fins and broke plenty of the jointed and lost paint off chrome ones..
I would box them up and send to Cotton Cordell with a nice letter..( Before the internet) and they would send me back new plugs!!!!

i used to spend nights on the riprap behind the dam. cast net some shad/bluegill for a bait rig. still got some old saltwater Redfin in the box. haven't fished out there in years...

the 7" version has caught everything from small bass to big rock for me. something about the wake it leaves when v-waking is really attractive. i don't know if they still make them. aint been in a tackle store for years. "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned..." :cool:

went the other morning. my shoulder does NOT like my surf rod anymore. back to the Ugly Stik... not gonna risk damage now that i can draw & shoot my bows again without pain.
