Man the deer sure we're moving good this morning. I shot this one at 9:38. I almost had an awful shot though. I didn't hold low on her and she jumped the string on me. I clipped about 1/2" of one lung. After the shot she ran off with about 14" of arrow sticking out of her. When I went to track her I only found two specks of blood about 80 yards from the stand. I did see the button that was with her get up out of a bed and move on. I figured she was down somewhere in the area since the little buck bedded down so close. About 40 yards later, I almost stepped on her when I found her. She fell under a downed tree. The arrow had turned inside her and cut everything from that one lung all the way to her gut.
As I was climbing down, I happened to turn around and counted 7 does standing at 25 yards. Granted they never saw me they knew something was up. She was looking to my left and started the stomp and blow. If I had sat five more minutes in the stand I would have doubled up.
