shot it today it was not firing i have never seen a breech like this it has a long hole that is to small to fit pellets in it ,has hole that the fire goes through about the size of a cue tip it shoots no 11 primer and want shoot about every 12 shots tried differ pellets still no fire im going to get new primers and might try a different powder 777 lose powder instead of 777 pellets if this doesnt work i will wrap it around the ball hitch tommorow will make a good hood orament
 
How long have you owned this gun? Are you sure the breech plug is for #11 and not 209's?

I owned a Knight "American Knight" model, very similar to the Wolverine. It took musket caps not #11 primers.
 
I have a .50 US American Knight (USAK) model and it had the same breech plug arrangement as the Wolverine. I shot mine with #11 caps and loose Pyrodex powder, 85 grains and a T/C Maxi Hunter 265 grain bullet. Forget the pellets, go with the loose powder. Pyrodex or B/P only with the #11 caps. You can convert nipples to a musket cap, but both musket and #11 caps are doubtful with Pyrodex Pellets or 777 powder (loose or pellets). Just not enough power to light these powders and pellets with old style ignition.
I just converted the USAK to 209 pirmer ingnition and shot loose 777 @ 85 grains, and Hornady 300 grain SST sabots yesterday. 1" groups at 100 yards. After struggling with this rifle for years and leaving it in the safe in favor of the old .54 Renegade, I think I finally found a winner combination for the old USAK.
 
Personally, I never had a problem igniting pellets with the musket caps. I used nothing but in my Am. Knight for 3yrs and never once did I have a misfire.

We have never tried pellets in our wolverines(2), but both my son and I have never had a misfire with pyrodex, American Standard OR 777 using #11 caps. I have a 209 conversion breech and bolt also, but prefer the nipple, as spent 209's are the dickens to get out of the breech. We now use nothing but 777 loose. In our opinions, Wolverines are great guns. We have never seen any need to try to improve upon them.

I used a Wolverine for several years and never had a problem igniting Pyrodex pellets in mine. Mine is set up with a musket cap primer.

Remingtons, and no we have never tried any others. No particular reason other than Remingtons seemed to be the ones available when we get ready to buy.
 
I have used 95gr of loose Pyrodex Select with Remmy #11 primers for about 7 years in my Wolverine with nary a misfire.

Thats what I did also. Musket caps are BIG much easier to handle on a cold day. Never had a misfire with a Musket Cap.
Rube are your #11's old or new.?? Fresh caps have solved misfiring problems for lots of guys.
