Got a pic of a young buck that had just lost both antlers on North Cherokee. Another thing I noticed is the deer I got pics of are really skinny. Didn't figure that with all the acorns.

skinny and loss of horns go hand n hand, probably the long travel to find doe's during the rut,

Even with a bumper acorn crop, most can be gone by early December (due to rotting on the ground or being already eaten).

In my area, we had a lot of red oak acorns, which remain edible much longer.
Deer were still seemingly focused on eating these acorns on the last day of deer season, but I can't image many being left into February. A fat deer can still get skinny fast if he goes a few weeks with little to eat.

Still a load of them in several places I have been .this ice snow will not help them stay good id say

been seeing quite a few that half dropped both and a few holding one side. but heck, its almost march. its time for them to drop

I was kinda disappointed to see that they dropped. The camera was well off the beaten path in an area with rubs on trees 8-10 inches in diameter. I was wanting a pic of the deer doing it.
