I have a tourney there next weekend. Does anyone have any info that can help? My partner fished from 1st light til 3pm yesterday and only caught 3 fish. The 3 fish all; however, were above 4lbs!

get in line and have a trap tied on.... there are more boats than ever this year on the gun, my best advice would be to find the greenest tallest grass in 3-6 feet of water during practice, don't worry about catching fish in practice..... if you find the good grass, they'll show up eventually. Just claim your stake and fish it all day.

We caught 5 bass and a gar friday. The wind was strong and it was cold but he caught all fish on a bitsy flip. We are yet to caught a fish on rattle traps in 3 weeks! All on jigs but senko time will be soon!

I live about 20min from sboro and fish there regular I got a check in the big bass splash and all these fast moving lures haven't worked much at all for me this year. I would use them to locate fish then slow down with plastics or a jig

I guess that's why they call it fishing cause we can't catch anything on Guntersville this year on anything but traps. Starting in late January up to the big bass Splash last weekend, we've thrown everything at them, just only getting big bites on traps. There's just a right way to fish them and a wrong way to fish them.

We got lucky in the big bass splash and won one of the hourly payouts. That's a cool tournament, but a lake with 1105 fisherman on it fishing for a boat, gets beat up quick!

Results from our tourney saturday:

winner had 22lbs 6oz, 2nd place was 22lbs 4oz!
We only had 13.67. It was a day of missed opportunities for us. We had a 4.4oz fish die and a 3.9 die...My partner also loss 3 good fish at the boat. We caught all of our best fish on bitsy flips and I caught alot of 2lbers on texas rigged lizards. My cousin's team finished 2nd and they caught ALOT OF BIG FISH the biggest came on a spinnerbait( it won the big fish award) but the rest on bitsy bugs and brush hogs. He said they threw back over 15 fish that were between 31/2 and 4lbs!

That's always an option. Problem is that EVERYBODY does that so... We had real good success w 10" Blue berry worms texas rigged.
