good perrenial food plot?

what is a good perrenial food plot to plant? plan on planting about 3, 1/2 acre plots this year.

planted 3 plots last year in shot plot but they didnt turn out to great.

just want something that will come back thick every year. if there is something that will even come back?

I love imperial whitetail clover. I have watched deer go by my other plots straight to the clover. I can usually get 5 years out of it with proper weed management. Did you sell your colorado?

what type of weed killer do you use so it wont kill the clover. i was watching the "management advantage" sunday and they had clover planted but didnt use any weed killer. the clover came back thick but the tall grass covered it up alot. they said it didnt matter but i bet to differ.

yep i still have it. just had to replace the computer on it. cant believe it went out at 85k. the dealership said they were notorious for that. you still have yours?

I like to keep the weeds out as much as possible personally.

Still have my colorado. I like it but wish I had an extra cab sometimes. The 4 cylinder is pretty weak to but man I get great gas mileage for a truck. Hate that about yours.

yeah my 4 cyl is weak too but your right about the gas mileage. i spend about 20bucks a week in gas.

FOR A PERENNIAL, CLOVER IS THE BEST . BUT FOR THAT ACREAGE I WOULD GO WITH SOYBEAN IN SUMMER AND WW OR WO IN FALL. JUST MY 2

Another vote for white clover/chicory, and maybe a little red clover. I would not plant soybeans. If you have many deer around, they will likely be browsed out in plots that small (and they're obviously not perennial). Check out Dr. Craig Harper's older food plot pub-

The taller weeds/wheat/etc help act as a cover for the clover and it actually thrives in it. Once it gets too tall just mow it or bushog it about 6 to 8 inces tall. Works great with ladino clover!!!! They are right about the taller!
