Hunted solo this morning with no luck and more gurgles than gobbles with all the rain. Ran back out with my 5 year old, Samuel, once the rain stopped. Set up and hit the box call and cut off by multiple gobbles. Had 3 long beards come in full strut and knocked down the lead bird. Total hunt was 30 minutes.
5 total beards (9.5, 5.5, 7, 4.5 and 4)
Samuel has turned out to be my good luck charm. During deer season we killed a 3.5 year old 8 point in 45 minutes. Needless to say he's hooked and so am I. Hunting with your kids, it don't get any better than that.
