The 2 of us killed 10. 6 mallards, 3 gadwalls and one black duck. I wish we could have stayed longer and got 2 more for our limit but it was fun and the big snow was beautiful on the lake
Most people thought we were crazy for even trying to hunt this morning but we knew we could kill several if we could make it. With 8 to 10 inches of snow it could be impossible to even get there. The boat ramp was our biggest concern. The ramp turned out to be our only issue, backed the boat in with no problems but pulling the truck back up to parking lot was horrible. We kept spinning out and got sideways a few times. My buddy just happened to have a 5 gallon bucket in the bed of his truck. With the water temp being in the mid to upper 40's we filled the bucket up with lake water and poured on the ramp to melt snow and ice, this took forever but it worked. Good thing we got there so early, 2 hours before shooting light.
