Is there a good or bad time to fertilize?

My buddies and I planted three food plots about 2 1/2 weeks ago. First time any of these plots have been planted. We used a disc to break up the soil and then broadcasts winter oats and winter wheat. We also spread a small amount of pinto beans. These seed were all mixed and broadcast together.

I have purchased Triple 15 Fertilizer from Co-Op to spread on these plots. Is now OK to do it? The forecast is for 50 to 60% chance of rain each of the next three days, with 60% plus each night.

Should I spread now, wait until right before a rain or just do it ASAP?

Gosh, I make long posts! :D :D :D

I'd to ahead and spread. The rain will come. Plus, these cool nights and dew in the mornings have our plots starting out pretty nice...and we havent had any rain since we planted them. Just got some last night though. Cant wait to see them now.

I got two plots fertilized over lunch. When I was 5 miles from the plots, I ran into a light rain. How sweet is that!

Here are three pictures. Plots were planted 2 1/2 weeks ago. :)

That looks really good, and the timing was prolly just about right. These rains that are coming in will be nice 2 some plots. Let's just hope it isn't too heavy and wash everything out of the ground.

I fertilized yesterday. I always like fertilizing after a good rain and the moisture will break down fertilize fast and if you catch a any rain then that is bonus.
