Anyone hunted down there recently?
We have a spot for Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend and was just wondering how it's been.

I hunt very close to there, the whole bottom has been pretty slow for the most part, last Wednesday afternoon was a really good shoot for everyone I talked to in the area. Then the backwater spread everything out. Good luck, I really enjoy hunting down there in the cypress trees

It's a cool place even though I haven't hunted there very much.
Grew up fishing there though.
We have spot 4 this weekend.
Oddly enough, the last time we were drawn, about 4 years ago, we had the same hole. LOL
I think we saw 4 ducks that day in the entire bottom.
I'm assuming the water is way up?

I don't think the water got high enough to get in there. Water level should be normal and unfortunately will still be pretty clear compared to everywhere else.

Wonder if it will be low enough to wade?

The water is shallow enough to wade but the mud might be deeper than the water right there South of the bind sight.

Ive just always hated hunting clear/black water when all the other water around is muddy. I think ducks like that fresh water.

There was a bunch of birds there this morning
Heard a few shots
We could have shot at two but it was 2 minutes before legal time
After the first hour it was over
On our way out we jumped probably 500 ducks
They were everywhere a blind wasn't lol
