Gonna Switch For A While.

My go-to rifle is a custom made, Parker-Hale .308. Roger Hale made it for me about 27-years ago as a gift. I have killed everything from elk on down with it. I have never had to adjust the scope since the day I put it on. I love that gun.

But...

I also have an old Savage Model 99, .308. I have had it a long time and it is a sweet shooting rifle. I have not shot it to hunt with in a few years. Tomorrow I am breaking it back out for a few hunts. It deserves to have a doe or two in front of it.

I intend to try them for a bit tomorrow afternoon, again Wed, afternoon and Thanksgiving morning for a while. Hunting TG morning, has always been somewhat of a tradition with me. Last year, I killed two and made it home by 8:30. This year, I will be buck hunting only and it may not have to be a big buck.

I can still give two and maybe three away before I make my AL pilgrimage. I'm doing a radio show Wed. morning and that always spawns a request for meat. In AL, I always give whatever I kill down there, away to the staff at the headquarters.

Along with TWRA, if it suits me, I may set a kill record. I don't farm so I can't set a harvest record.
