So my honey field habits have changed.

I avoid hunting this until MZ since it's quite a large field and learned the hard way it's easy to get busted waiting for an arrow shot.

So now, like clockwork, I watch the deer in this field from the time I arrive (about 5am) until just before shooting light. It's as if they know to hit the thicket at daylight. Opening day and Sunday I stayed until almost 11am hoping they'd pop back out but it didn't happen.

It reminds me of duck hunting Cheatham WMA- the ducks know when shooting time is over and they fall into blind ponds like crazy.

There's other farms with hunters bordering this one and on two opening days I heard a total of 2 shots.

Did the deer go nocturnal???

I need to find a spot to set up in the thicket they go to just prior to daylight and maybe ambush at shooting time.
