It's NOT gonna surprise me if/when ND does a reversal on this and says we have changed our minds. The NCAA will get to them and explain to them who is running the show.

As per usual you don't understand all of what you are talking about. It's an extra month of practice and early enroll's get to go through practice that last few days before the game. EVERY coach wants the bowl game practices for their team for next year and it's valuable potential game experience for players who haven't played much if any this year. No coach wants to miss that. It's the biggest downfall for finishing less than 6 wins. Winning the game isn't that big of a deal. It's not got anything to do with who "runs" college football. They showed them that when they left them out of the playoffs all together.

Taking their ball and going home. Interesting. First team out of a 12 team playoff and decided to not play in a premier bowl game. Cost them money and practices. Not to mention depriving their players of a cool trip, swag, exposure and branding. Hurting themselves
I agree. It's a crybaby move. I don't understand not playing in a bowl.
Not only does your team and school benefit from bowl games but it's a privilege to play. Bowl games are one of the things that make college football great. If bowl games are meaningless because they don't have a championship attached to it then half of the season is meaningless.
It will be some of the players last chance to play football.

Haven't seen it posted but the Big 12 is fining K State and Iowa State a 1/2 mil each for opting out of bowls.
I saw that yesterday,Notre Dame needs to join a conference or risk what happened to them yesterday. When you lose to the only 2 good teams you played with the exception of USC,you dont deserve a spot in playoff!

And head to head should always be the number one criteria. You lose to Miami on the field you don't get to bump Miami out and take their spot.

No, Not ALL Teams want a bowl game.

https://nypost.com/2025/12/08/sport...ity between the two, just lost its head coach.

I feel there are several teams that didnt make the playoffs that would for sure beat two teams that made it in!!To be fair, the committee is gonna have to pick the actual 12 best teams in the nation and rank them 1 thru 12 and forget the way its being done now!Vanderbilt was for sure one of the 12 best teams but got left out!

Not anymore

Bowl games aren't what they used to be and almost everyone now gets invited to a bowl game

Plus many top players opt out of bowl games

Notre Dame may be sore losers but still bowl games are a joke anymore in my opinion

Except Notre Dame is probably complaining more about Oklahoma, JMU and Tulane getting in

Are we just going to have a playoff where only power 5 teams and Notre Dame get in?

How about we expand the playoff even more?

Bowl games are the NIT of college football now. Completely meaningless.
ND should've beat Miami and/or A&M. No doubt. Since then, they have beat every team by double digits. Up until seven days ago they were listed ahead of Miami and Alabama. All the sudden Miami jumps them without playing another game. Meanwhile the ACC network is marathoning their game against ND 😆. Then Bama gets its ass kicked and has three losses and still gets in.

I understand the argument about NDs two losses but the committee crapped on them by rearranging the projections. If this happened to UT or whoever the forum would be raising hell just like ND is doing. Regardless the 'cream puffs' they killed on their schedule does anyone think Tulane or James Madison can beat them... or BYU... or Vandy?

Vandy was never going to make it past the Quarterfinals. So giving them a shot at the First Round was more of a Participation Trophy at best.

Tennessee is in a conference and has the opportunity if they play well enough within the conference to get an auto bid. ND chose not to be part of a conference for a TV deal. Boohoo. They lost to Miami. Boohoo. Bama got preferential treatment (welcome to what we folks in SEC country always deal with).

Easy solution for ND, play better, schedule stronger opponents. Don't lose two games. Join a conference. Is there anyone who believes that ND could beat either OSU or Indiana? I've watched them all play and I don't think ND would have a prayer. This is just whiny nonsense.

Now regarding Tulane and JMU, come on... They shouldn't be there. The committee knows that, the fans know that, heck even those teams know they have zero shot. Changes need to be made but ND crying like lil girls isn't doing anything to help their case.

So to ND I say, get gud scrub!
