Anyone plant it? What type of luck have you had?

They say you have to WORK for chufa the first few years, maintaining weeds and such but I've never messed with it

I planted it once. The weeds took it over quickly. Never noticed an increase in bird usage over my standard fall plots. Maybe i wasn't diligent enough for it to thrive.

I couldn't get it to grow could, I planted it three times, three years in a row. I just don't think it grows good with where I have to plant it.

It is really good for turkeys. I've seen places where it was used and they loved it.

Tried several times in different types of soil...no dice. I get a few plants here and there but they never made any nuts. My chufa planting days are over.

Need sandy soil for maximum benefit..

Yes boll weevil, mine was the same. Not enough nuts to do anything.

yup, use to work great in areas on our farm in Bama but only the ones with sandy soils.

I planted it once and didn't like the results. Save your money and do clover instead.
