So my youngest daughter and I watched the Godfather movie for her first time a couple days ago. She said, 'this is making me hungry for real Italian food'...
Well guess what, there is a scene where Clemente is cooking for the whole crew, teaching Michael how to do it, and lists all the ingredients while he is cooking...
So I replicated it for her from the movie!
2lbs ground venison (80% deer, 20% pork butt)
3 cans diced tomatoes
2 small cans tomato paste
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
Half glass of red wine
Italian herbs (I used Tone)
2 tbsp sugar
Slow cooked for 8h on simmer...
SO much better than browning meat and then just dumping in a couple jars of store-bought spaghetti sauce!
Super rich, but not gamey at all.
