Gobbling

Saturday I took my son and a few of his buddies on the juvenile duck hunt and had what seemed like 5 birds gobbling every time I would call at a duck. It was crazy.

Turkeys gobble all times of the year. Just do it more and louder during the mating season. Usually March thru May.

Heard one last Friday while deer hunting in south Alabama. He was close but never saw him. I was ready to pick up the shotgun right then.

some of the most intense gobbling i have ever heard is during opening day of duck season on my spot. its right on the river so when the guns go off the turkeys go crazy and it usually lasts till 8 or 9 in the morning.

I haven't been out early enough to hear em on the roost yet, but today I bumped a lone longbeard carrying my .22 and some salt into public land woods to look for small game and start a mineral lick for deer. When I saw that bird, I said to myself, he is in danger in about 2 months.
