I went crappie fishing this morning and heard a Tom gobbling on the ridge above the slough where I was fishing. It was great!!!

Heard my first one Sunday morning. Heard one hammering Monday morning too. But I haven't been to our place for a couple weeks. Happy to hear them
Yep. Been hearing them in tndee mornings around here for nearly a month.
Probably be gobbled out by mid April when season opens.

I heard one a few mornings ago and I was inside the house,very close to house!
They are gobbling and have been strutting for awhile around me.

I've been out 4 mornings past 1.5 weeks trying to locate a bird for the opener this Saturday and haven't heard a peep. Found 2 sets of tracks, so I know there is one out there somewhere on my lease.

I went out Saturday morning and listened to several. Walked in under a longbeard then heard about 10 with Jakes mixed in. Did a loop after fly down and only put eyes on 3 Jakes. I did another loop and found 2 long beards.

I've been beat to that gate at 1:30am a couple times.
That's when you park the wife's car their the night before and then come with your car the next morning...
They can have it. I ain't that mad at em anymore.

it's plenty of options so I just hit the gas
He's dying to be called up in the wide open timber. My absolute favorite way to hunt them (before full foliage).

Finally saw the first turkey for the year in the tiny valley about 140 yards from the porch today.
Looked out later and saw a doe and two very young deer (noticed spot on one) racing across the meadow in the pouring rain. They came up the hill toward the house so I grabbed the rifle and loaded up in case there was a coyote behind them, but nope. That mom was NOT calm at all.
