gloves???

I don't keep up with the pros but it sounds pointless. If I wear gloves it's because it's cold and my hands freeze easily. Mainly the fingers get cold, so why fingerless? I got one with the mitt that flips back so you can use your fingers if you have to
 
Yes sun protection, as much time as the pros spend on the water it makes sense.I've never used them around here, but fishing in Florida is a different story, have had sun burnt hands several times.
 
A normal week for the pro is... All day Monday and Tuesday... 1/2 Wednesday so you can make the meeting. All day Thusday and Friday... Then If you make the top 50 all day Saturday... If you make the top 12 all day Sunday. That's a lot of hours on the water. Monday and Tuesday are from sun up to sun down.

I'd be looking for all the help I could get from the sun if I spent that many hours weeks after week on the water. That's over 60 hours if you make the entire week.
 
I've heard it was to help with blistering and such for those long days on the water. I learned a lot about the things those dudes (pros) go through fishing so much, and it was hard to believe the toll it can take on their arms and hands.
 
It's a lot harder on the body than people think. While a lot of the time they spend Monday and Tuesday is riding and looking at graphs, when they get down to fishing it's hard core. On top of that the beating they take when the water is rough... They don't slow down. It's wide open or stopped. Standing up on the trolling motor even with the recessed tray is tough.

yes many of them take the seats out of their boats they stand the whole time and its 100 percent focus. very tough physically and mentally.

yes many of them take the seats out of their boats they stand the whole time and its 100 percent focus. very tough physically and mentally.

Tournament fishing can be very tough on the body, I have never once had a seat on the front deck of any bass boat I have ever owned! Daylight til dark practicing is the norm!
