glock vs xd

I've got no trigger time on either weapon, but I have handled them, and they are way too blocky for me! Feels like a brick..

I have both a G17 and a XD45. They both are very reliable. The Glock has a different grip angle than the XD. Other than that, to me IMO, they are basically the same. Pick which one feels and points best for you.

Grip safety on XD is a plus, IMO

I have both a Glock 23 and XD subcompact in .40 If I had to go into a fire fight with one I would choose the XD.. I little more balanced I think, therefore I believe I shoot it better.

depends on the models you're looking at. in reliability they seem to be a coin toss.
for sub compacts i like the glock b/c it's a little smaller; no acc rail.
in the compacts and full size i like the feel of the xd.

Glock, hands down, no comparison,

Why are you selling your 27 btw, and is it sold yet?

To go towards a G23. It is not sold. I attempted to sell to a non-tndeer member on the recommendation of a spike on here who referred him and the guy called me, arranged a meeting, set a time, I was there but the guy never showed up, and never called. What a jerk. Never again will I trust a non-member on here. So it is still for sale.

I carry an issued Glock 22 at work and it shoots good and is reliable. I also own a XD-40 of my own and love it. I feel way more comfortable with the feel and balance of the XD I personally can out shoot myself with the XD any day over the Glock. I believe that both guns are great guns and equal in quality and reliability I just like the XD better.

The Glock is a very reliable gun, but so is the XD. And as Travis E. stated,I to out shoot myself with the XD over the Glock. I love the grip angle of the XD vs. the GLock. For me the grip angle offers much more control and pointability than the angle on the Glock. The XD grip reminds me more of a 1911 than the Glock.

XD for me.

Up until last year, I hadn't shot handguns in a few years. I tried a subcompact XD in 9mm and did pretty well, considering how long it had been since the last time I shot handguns. I did so well with it and was impressed enough I HAD to get one. Nothing else would do.

Having said that, Glocks are good, too. I just liked the feel of the XD better.

It's sort of like the Pepsi/Coke or Ford/Chevy dilema...it all boils down to personal preference.

I had a Glock 17 that is now model70mans, and I now have a XD 40, and had an M&P 9. I liked the M&P better than any of the 3, but I traded it on a Sig 228 which is the holy grail in 9mm pistols IMO. I like my XD alot more than the Glock. The Glock was the most innacurate defensive pistol I have ever owned, and the grip angle causes me shoot high every time when instinctively point shooting.(not aiming using sights) The XD is a more accurate pistol, and the grip angle is more conventional. Reliability is a wash, they all are close to 100% reliable. The only jams I have had were through the Glock, but I cant say it wasnt ammo related. All that being said, I am a Sig fluffy kittens, I have a 220 in 45acp and the 228 in 9mm. They are very accurate, and 100% reliable. You coulndt hand me a Glock over any of the ones mentioned in my post.

As most people have stated.... XD.

2 reasons for me... 1. grip angle, 2. bakstrap safety...

both are very reliable...

can't lose with either....

I choose Glock because:
made in Austria, instead of Croatia
massive support network, if ever needed
better resale value
better choice of accessories, holsters
you don't have to explain to people why you didn't buy a Glock :D

I had a Glock17... dang thing blew up in my hand. slide flew off the front of the gun, trigger guard and bottom of the frame cracked down the middle. Freaked me out! and gave me some pretty good burns too.

I sent it to them, and they gave me another one. I left it at the shop and sold it.

No it was factory Remington fmj

I have read alot about Glock kabooms. Most were 40 cals, the Glocks have an unsupported chamber that can cause a blowup if pressures get too high. I think this is a fairly rare problem, but yet another reason I dont want one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdqIhmu9Fuk Anybody questioning Glock accuracy should watch this video of a guy shooting a Model 27 Subcompact Glock. I personally like the Glock better than the XD. I think the Glock is a fine pistol. It has been around for years and proven itself time and time again. The only reason I can see for going with an XD over a Glock is if it fits your hand better, because if the gun does not fit your hand you will never shoot it well. After watching this video take another look at 10mm's Model 27 for sale in the classifieds it is a super deal!!
