Sitting near the chinkapin oak where I missed a good mature 8 pt. Sunday afternoon. Got a perfect south wind again and he neither smelled or saw me the other day. Will he show up again? Doubtful but you don't know unless you try. Hopefully to be continued.

Nope. But this is only my third sit at this spot this year. Watched him completely relaxed and feeding on acorns for at least 20 minutes on Sunday afternoon at 25 yards before he gave me a shot

He's not spooked from you shooting at him i can tell you that. Even if he heard it go over or whatever he don't know that he was being shot at. If that's his core area he'll be back!

Good luck.

Just had three does feed on acorns for about ten minutes. A little less than 30 minutes of shooting hours left. Can still happen.

Well five does came in to feed but no big boys. They got a pass today. Maybe next time

Keep after em

I'd have shot a doe knowing the rut is near and you might want the meat to hold you over. :D But dont listen to this trigger happy fool, you'll get the big one

Yes Cat I usually don't give up a shot on a doe but with it being a late afternoon hunt and I have to work tomorrow I decided to pass. If I hunt here Friday morning and a doe sneaks in, she doesn't get another pass.
