Hunted area my whole life.. From opening of muzzleloader til Christmas you need to be hunting every chance you get. I think the first 2 weeks of December is the best IMO..

I second that. Used to think Thanksgiving was the peak. But last couple of years, I see the bigger bucks chasing more first couple of weeks in December also.

I'll take the whole month of December.. I think we have so many does down here, it takes the whole month for most of the breeding to happen.. The big bucks are always killed in December around here. All my mature bucks I've killed in December, and most in those first 2 weeks. Some may not agree but I witness peak rut the whole month, and I even see chasing after Christmas.

Same thing on my farm in lawrence. Most of of the mature bucks that are seen or killed in my area is in the month of December, but mainly the first two weeks.. I killed a 4.5 year old two years ago running a doe as hard as he could a week after Christmas.
