We need cold weather, we need sunny bluebird day, we need wind...

We had all of them today.
Only one thing we need now..............ducks.

I have really enjoyed duck hunting this year but I am getting really bored with it really fast.

If no ducks show up tomorrow with the perfect front coming in and all that, I am probably gonna be hard pressed to go anymore.

Gotta go back to work Monday, figure they will start pouring in then.

Ducks hardly ever cooperate. I remember seeing huge numbers two weeks after the season closed a few years back.

I'm thinking it is just wayyy too warm.

There are a bunch of doves sitting on the power lines around Wolfchase mall & I-40. You know its too warm when Doves are hanging around this late in the year.

We saw a bunch in Missouri yesterday and killed a few but they didn't work very well. But there isn't as many as there should be. End of this week looks promising

scn,
I got plenty of shells LOL
I finally finished my first box of the year the other day finishing off cripples. :)

I'm getting ready to go Thursday for the first time and I'm hoping the birds cooperate. I'll be happy if I get to even shoot at a bird. Killing just one would be a bonus! I've always wanted to try it. According to everything I've been hearing and talking to my buddies up above us this weekend should be pretty awesome!

Hunted divers with my son this morning and seen several more ducks than on friday. I think it is about to get better. January is always a better month for me.

A lot of ducks showed up yesterday afternoon in Arkansas and I've heard good things from the dyersburg area. Stay optimistic duck hunting always gets better after Christmas.

Hunted lease in Camden the past 2 days. Yesterday morning was on fire from first light until noon. Noon - 3pm didn't see a bird of any kind flying. Should've killed 15-20 between 4 of us that morning. This morning hunted the rice pit, saw about 500 birds flying but they just flew right on past us. We did shoot 1 mallard with bright orange feet and 5 gadwalls yesterday that actually worked the blind in the swamp. Probably saw 1000 -1200 birds Wednesday morning from swamp blind and had 20-30 work the spread. None of us have ever seen this before. We watched a ton of ducks drop down around us but heard 0 calling from them once they hit the water, even when other groups flew over them. It was just weird. Game warden said the refuge had around 47k on it but there needed to be 50k+ before they would start moving off......I'm going back to the swamp blind Sunday.
