Tried to line up my new .17hmr this weekend. Ended up maxing out the scope it came with trying to get it zeroed. Didn't have any luck. I think the scope is actually setting crooked so I am going to reset it but how can I reset the scope? Any help very appreciated!

turn all the way in the other direction, count click, and turn halfway back?

That'll work.

Here's the method I prefer. Hold a mirror up against the bell of the scope. Look though the scope and line up the reticle with its reflection so the 2 intersections coincide. Quick & easy.

hmmm. Think i'll try that tonight for fun. Then if i cant get it I guess i'll be counting clicks!

Thanks!

Either method will work. Sounds like you have a ring or mount problem. Make sure everything is seated. Worst case you can shim the rings. Shouldn't matter on a light recoil rifle. Make sure you don't crank the rings down if they're not aligned. You'll damage the scope.

Go to your bathroom mirror and place the scope against the mirror flush and look thru it. Turn the wind and elev until they pair up.

Thanks guys. Fixed 2 scopes in 30 second in the bathroom. Wife gave me a pretty funny look. I thought the scope was setting crooked on the gun. After removal back ring/base is very wobbly. Going to fix it in a min and get it back together. Thanks again!
