25 hp Johnson motor.
Runs like a CHAMP until it decides to just quit.

New gas, line, bulb, tank and plugs.

If you have the oil mixed too high will that cause the plugs to foul quicker?

If I lean it down some, will it hurt the motor?

Running 50:1 now or however you say it.
What should it be mixed at ?

Plugs were put in new yesterday, motor quit and wouldn't crank today.

I have the same motor and I run 50:1 too. I've always been told it was better to run on the heavy side versus the light.
Last yr I had a similar problem right in the middle of season and figured out that it was the bulb. Motor would run for a second a then cut off. Finally figured it out by pumping the bulb when it sounded like it was going to cut off and it would keep running. Those motors also seem to flood pretty easy.

Could be bulb, any joint in the fuel line, or even the gasket in the coupler where it fits into your motor. Hopefully that's all it is, cause I don't know enough to figure out anything else. Lol

I have had "new" bulbs be bad right out of the package too.....

And, the bulbs can be installed backwards. Don't ask me how I know.

Sometimes when it's below freezing and you are sitting on a cold boat seat or standing knee/waist deep in cold water.... bout the only thing you are thinking about is getting to a warm place.

In my 25 Mercury duck boats I always ran full synthetic oil, 50:1 ratio and 2 ounces of Seafoam in every 6 gallon tank. Make sure the tank vent is open and unobstructed. That 25 Johnson is bullet proof, run the Seafoam in every tank and it will improve.

Check the fuel line pickup in the tank for breaks, air leaks. or obstructions.
Better yet just replace it.
