Yes, it's a good'un. I had one for a few years and found lots of coins, a good bit silver with it. Hard to beat in that price range, just takes field time to get used to what it's telling you. One of the best things you can do is keep the sensitivity fairly low when starting out, because high sens makes it give false signals and make a lot of racket that's harder to interpret. I hardly ever ran it at max even when I got used to the machine, just works better in most cases at 5 bars or less. You can generally run it higher out in the woods than around houses, power lines, etc.
That is the machine I recommend to everyone that is just wanting a good machine to start out with and not have a lot invested in it. For the performance you get via the price, it will outdo most machines that sell in the $500-$600 range. Very good machine for the money. It is very very hot on silver coins.
The only thing I didn't like about it...and this is just a pet peeve of mine. On targets that it thinks is a coin...it will give a "bell tone" beep on it. I didn't like the bell tone. If you got in an area with a number of targets close together, it made it difficult to pinpoint and cipher out where each target was. It needed a button you could push to disable the bell tone feature and just give a good sharp "beep" signal.
