While I was on garden patrol this afternoon looking for vermin to snipe, the elusive House Sparrow decided to show himself . This Sparrow has been harrasing the local Tree Swallows that are nesting in the gourds and building nests in the purple martin house. Took the back of his head off @ 44 yds.

Good shot. Head shots don't mess up any meat.
 
When I seen garden patrol,in the small game forum,I thought that I was gonna see another Eric Kilby post!!! LMAO

I dont think Eric Kilby was shooting pest's from his garden, if i remember correctly he shot a rabbitt out of his front yard and was cleaning it when the warden showed up :) You can legally shoot small game that are damaging your garden without a depredation permit.

Of Course House sparrow season is year round no limit per the regs.

Eric Kilby I do believe is one of the most famous person on Tndeer.
 
I didn't mean to offend you or anything,and I know sparrow season is open year round..No worries..I was just saying that when I seen the topic Garden patrol in the small game forum that it reminded me of Eric Kilby..Most people don't think to get depredation permits for small game like rabbits..
 
Not offended at all, but depredation permits are not required for small game such as rabbitts. I only noted about the sparrow season because some people reading this may think that I was just shooting protected songbirds.
 
I had those aggravatin rascals run some bluebirds out of one of my bluebird boxes. Slipped out about dark and covered the hole and reached in and "eliminated" the problem. Blue birds are back and raising in the boxes again. Always a good day when you can take out non-native/invasive species.
