Game Carts

Hey guys, looking to purchase a game cart this year for those long hauls.. For those with experience with them, which is a good one to get?

My best advice is this, since I own one. They work poorly for Tennessee cutover and hardwoods because they hang on everything, and I mean everything.......Find the drag canoe, or what ever it is called, and buy it! Much easier to use and you wont regret it. My cart, aluminum by the way by API, has been relegated to only certain areas, and bagged trace mineral hauling onto areas where salt licks are easily accessible. You will spend your money much wiser.

I have a Big Game brand cart. It works but a little small I had to extend both ends of the cart. A large buck overfills it and makes it difficult to handle.

I use a jet sled it's for ice fishing but does well in the leaves... Not prefect but it does the job.

I agree with Boone. I gave my cart away.

Game carts on steep hills and rough ground are a tremendous headache (they turn over constantly). I would look towards the sleds.

I have one when I hunt flat ground, but the suck in the mountains.

I too would recommend the sled. If your hunting rough terrain the cart wont be of much use.

I have used my buddies cart on solo Ohio hunts. Works perfect on those flat fields and woods.

I have never tried it here in TN.

I have a cart I use in Fayette county with all those mountains and rough terrain, it goes really well, not quite sure I'm seeing the troubles others are reporting.

Oh. I have my twin 17 year old boys one on each end & when it gets rough, they pick it up and carry it.

PS: Sportsman's Guide, 49 bucks, oo-season about 3 years ago, the wheel stink badly for a year.

IMO a cart is MUCH better than dragging if it is over 100 yards. I have used one many times at distances of 1.5 miles or more. Dragging even a good setup is more difficult than repositioning a cart every so often IMO.
