Future rifles

So here I sit with the idea of building 3 new rifles but the problem is I can only really decide on 1 caliber. What I want is a 280ai that will be an all around hunting rifle built on a remington 700 action. That on is easy. The next 2 is where I can't decide so let's see what the residents have to say.

1- I want a heavy barreled 300wm or 7mm mag. This will be a long range/zombie apocalypse rifle. Lol I am admittedly a 30cal fan and that is the reason I can't let the 300 go completely. I know the 7mm will shoot flatter (to a small amount) and have less wind drift, use less powder and recoil less. The rifle will only be used on bench or in position shooting from prone or kneeling and will be heavy with probably a 26inch bull.

2- 6x47 lapua or 6creedmoor? This will be a lighter weight varmint type rifle. I know the creed will have more muzzle velocity but it will also burn barrels faster. The lapua has better brass but less speed. I am set on 6mm because I have everything covered already on either side of it. This rifle will probably weigh in at 8-9lbs scopes with a 22-24inch medium contour barrel.

Lastly- I have it narrowed to these calibers and am set on them. I will be having each of these rifles built off of 700 actions and each has its own purpose and some "just because I can" thrown in. I would like to hear some good information that I can help solidify decisions between calibers mentioned. Also, I'm not rich so none of this will be happening immediately but hopefully one will get started this year.

the 280 AI in a hunting rifle set up for the 160 Accubond is a killer weapon,,the same 280 AI caliber in the heavy bench rifle setup for the 180 Hybirds will do anything a 300 WM will till you get way out past 1500 yards,,and you can use the same brass and load tooling as your hunting rifle,,

I love the 6mms also and have several,,my next will be the 6 Creedmoor and plan to use the new Lapua 6.5CM small primer brass necked down to 6mm,,it should push the 105 VLDs to the 3150-3200 fps range and shoot bugholes,,

I had thought about necking down the 6.5 brass to 6 and that would put the x47 and 6creed on an even playing field in that arena and push the 6creed ahead everywhere else. Makes good sense.
The 280ai I am set on for a hunting rifle and the 160accubond is exactly what I want to shoot.
I am set on the mag for the bench rifle but am just unsure on 7 or 300 but I keep leaning more towards the 7.

I have considered that as well but that is a lot of powder and barrel wear. I may still end up that way but I do know I am leaning more and more towards the .284 over the 30.

might even entertain 7 saum (my fav) or 7 wsm 7 rum 7 stw

I have entertained the short mags as well but shy away because of brass availability. Plus I already have a 300 and 325wsm and really just want a full blown mag. I am leaning towards the 7mag though.

Out of curiosity, why would you want a 6 Creedmoor instead of a 243? I bought a 6.5 Creedmoor because I couldn't find the gun I wanted in a 260 REM, but the 243 is available in a lot of rifles.

They are ballisticly similar I will give you that. However the case on the 6x47 and 6creed is shorter than the 243 which aids in magazine function for shooting longer and heavier bullets and not having to single load. I know some people do it with a 243 but there is no arguing the advantage in the long run. Also, none of these rifles will be off the shelf rifles, they will all be semi customs that will be built on remington 700 actions. I have had 4 built in the last few years and couldn't be happier with them. They just fit me better and I get exactly what I want. Plus accuracy is more consistent and better overall.

I have both 6.5 creedmore and 260 remington...great shooters. Also have 7mg and 300 mg...both in Winchester....
