These may not be the best to eat but they are fun to catch... mixed up some carp pack bait and went after them... Also caught a nice 24 inch channel cat and lost a much bigger carp... this one was around 27 to 28 inches. If you have not ever tried it, it is fun this time of year when I stink at catching largemouth bass....

Yes they are! I was fishing for smallmouth with a hard jerkbait and 8 lb line. I had a big carp absolutely crush it. I knew I had a big fish on but a carp was the last thing I expected to see with a jerkbait in its mouth.
silver carp are fun to catch with a treble setup. fairly good eating too. taste similar to atlantic cod.
I been wanting to try for some massive grass carp at the 1,000 acre lake.

I had a friend that swore canned carp was excellent table fare.
why would they put grass carp in there. i would think that would be a dumb move unless they are sterile or something.

What's fun is catching a 5-6 lb one on a fiberglass pole fishing for shell cracker!

My buddy caught one in the tail on a crappie jig this spring. Really thought it was gonna break the rod. I call him the carp king now. lol
I bet that was a fight and a half..... :)

Yep, he thought he had a big flathead at first, but no it was a 15lb. carp. Man he was disappointed, he was thinking about all the fillets.
