I have been seeing some really good morning activity for the past couple weeks but very little rut action. This morning I found myself in a situation I could hunt a million more times and never have happen again. While sitting on a hill side I had a hit list 8 point, I've named chocolate walk in behind me and also into the wind at 15 yards. At the same time I had what would of been my biggest buck by far walk out of a clear cut in front of me at 100 yards but I couldn't move for chocolate standing right over my shoulder. I didn't move but chocolate winded me and they were both gone. Tough luck, but mornings have been fun... Afternoons not so much, I was sitting today trying to remember the last time I saw a deer past 11:00. I don't think I've seen an afternoon deer since the end of bow season. I'm considering saving the hunting pressure and sticking to mornings until late December.

Been having the same experience on my place. Decent bit of AM movement and nothing in the afternoon/evening. Never been like that in years past. Hope you get another chance at either of them.

Same deal here. Go to the woods and see a ton in the morning. Come out for a few hours and go back and dont see a thing in the evening.
