Has anyone used this instead of the traditional dye and wax route? I only have a few traps and trap for coyotes and cats for a few weeks after deer season closes and was hoping this would be a much easier way to go.
 
I just always dye and wax mine.. I started to get some but after doing a bunch of research on it I decided not to.. can't remember now what the reason was..
 
Been using formula 1 for a few years now & have had good luck. It is messy & takes some time to fully dry in our west TN air because of humidity. Ive been curious about the FMJ as well. Good luck this season.
 
Too you as well. I mix mine just a little thinner than directions call for and it only takes about a day or two to completely dry. We have high humidity in E. Tn as well.
 
Dipped 15-20 traps today in FMJ, still got a dozen or so to go. Haven't set any yet but so far I'm impressed by how fast it dries & the ease of dipping. Will give report in a few weeks to let yall know how it's holding up.

I'd like to hear your results! I got some mb 650's I just spray painted.. read where one guy uses mop n glo.. and has had real good luck with it.. I may try 3-4 in that and see how it does..
 
I decided to try the FMJ this year, but haven't set any yet. Was simple to do, and the traps are slick and shiny, like a glass coat on them. I cant smell anything on them, I hope the critters cant either. Find out soon.
 
Set a few traps dipped in FMJ yesterday & this morning. They still have that hard, glass like coat on them after riding around in the back of my truck & bed of my ranger. Seem to hold up better than my previous dip i was using. Will update after catch.
 
FMJ was still coating the entire trap after catching yote. Still keeps impressing me how well this stuff holds up compared to others I've used in the past. Will continue to buy. Also, as a side note, using wax dirt for the first time this year. VERY impressed with that & super easy to make. $15/5 lbs of flake wax will make 10 gallons of wax dirt. Even with all the rain we've had here my sets are still dry & working.
